Ian Haggerty - Bronze Sculptor

Artists Profile

Born in Edinburgh, Ian spent 5.5 years in the British army. In 1993, Ian and his family moved to Ontario Canada where he studied figurative sculpture at the Dundas Valley School of Art. In 2003, Ian and his family then moved to Queensland Australia and is now a citizen and is proud to call Australia his permanent home. 

Well known and an accomplished sculptor in the traditional style (realist).  Ian has won numerous awards over the years for his work’s, and has undertaken many sculptural commissions across America, United Kingdom, Europe and Australia. As a bronze sculptor Ian regards his lifelike sculptures of people and animals as his specialty. Ian sculpts predominantly in bronze, resin, clay polymer and concret and is also well known for his new (Signature) large scale steel silhouette style sculptures, portraying military scenes; which embrace the Spirit of the ANZAC and the sacrifice of the fallen.

Ian is a resident of the Gold Coast with a strong and geographically diverse following for his sculptures. Ian is a long time member of the Sculptors’ Society Gold Coast.

As a traditional sculptor, Ian admires the bronze sculptures of Richard McDonald, Philippe Faraut, Phillip Piperides, Dave McGarry. Ian specializes in sculpting highly detailed and realistic bronze figurative sculptures, including North American and Australian western style subjects including horses, these can be made to order or to a specific theme of your choice. Sculptures can be unique one offs and are priced according to the time taken, size and final materials used, i.e. Bronze, Resin, Clay etc; during the process the client is continually consulted to ensure that the end piece will meet their requirements.

Ian is also very accomplished in creating his new (Signature) large scale steel silhouette style sculptures; these can depict anything the client wants and at any scale and are available in most materials. These sculptures are well suited for public and commercial placements
